The first three of four projects, executed between 2014 and 2018 included 7 sets of LAMSON 2002 multistage centrifugal blowers, fitted with matching WEG 315kW variable frequency motors. The fourth and final project delivered in 2018 consisted of 12 LAMSON 2402 multistage blowers fitted with matching WEG 208kW variable frequency motors.
The customer’s continuous production process ensured that unplanned downtime and outages needed to be kept to an absolute minimum. While single stage centrifugal blowers would provide greater efficiency, due to the relatively low inlet/outlet pressure differential combined with the large gas volume, and also a lower upfront cost; multistage centrifugal blowers offer superior reliability.
